"Dear Family" message

Dear Family, I currently reside in Sandton, however, refer relocating to be close to my employment, noting a preference for placing long term. This coupled the right position, is aimed to support and sustain my decision to work within the sector as a career path, aiming to further my education within the sector to remain relevant. I have been an au pair, tutor, school facilitator and governess for 10 years, beginning while in High School myself, and love every moment of my job. I have always had a passion for shaping young minds from birth to high school; I have always worked in areas relating to children, such as a toy store for product knowledge, a nanny, an au pair and a Governess. Notably, I proudly have my Bachelor of Social Science supporting me with the knowledge I require daily; Sociology has taught me to understand parents and societal expectations and norms, and the importance of my role within a child’s character development. Education is extremely important to me, as I have had the benefit of studying Child and Youth Development for 3 years, as an undergraduate, carefully integrated into my daily tasks to support the stages of development, and reaching them without difficulty. This allows me to have academic knowledge required for healthy developmental, psychological and intellectual progress to take place, with the addition of reward systems to motivate learning. I am currently working towards continuing my studies by means of paying off student loans to eventually proceed into a teaching degree.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

I have worked as an au pair and tutor for many years and I find that I am suited for the role because of my ability to emotionally connect with the children I work with. This way, I am able to provide strong emotional support, care and educationally driven activities; with rewards for completion. Additionally, I hold strong family values and view my job as an extension of the family; Substantial Parent/ Older Sister. I am further able to assist with shopping and cooking for household as I understand the difficulties of being a working parent through professional experience.

Hobbies and other interests

In my spare time, I enjoy creative writing, reading and travel; noting the English language as a passion of mine, which will be extended to the speech development of your child. I enjoy working on automotive mechanics and share a deep bond with my car; proudly ensuring the safety of myself and the children in my care.
