Introduction to families
"Dear Family" message
Dear Family, thank you for taking the time to read my letter. My name is Christine and I am 32 years old. You surely get a lot of these letters from prospective Au Pairs, but rest assured, you will not regret to read about my reasons why I want to become your Au Pair.
Why I would make the perfect au pair
I would love to become your next Au Pair because I love children and enjoy spending time with them. I am prepared and I am well aware of the fact that being like a big sister for your children comes along with responsibilities for them and it will not always be just play and fun. My calm and patient personality will help me to problem solve difficult situations for instance when the kids are tired or don’t want to listen to me. I expect that in the first couple of days I will be exhausted at night because taking care of children the whole time can be tiring. But I am sure that I will adapt to the new tasks and daily routine quickly and become a big help for you. I am very curious to hear and learn all about your children, thank you for taking the time to read this.
Hobbies and other interests
In my spare time I like to ride horses, hike, explore Cape Town and surrounds and taking my 11 month old puppy out on adventures. I have stumbled upon many beautiful places in Cape Town some of my favourite being ruins in Newlands forest, Montebello Design Centre, Aquarium and the waterfront. I also like to read books and learn, my current book I'm reading ties into my love for teaching young minds is called addressing barriers to learning. I'm involved in a literacy programme which helps children who may not be at the correct level of language for their age and grade they are attending at school. We help the children by introducing language in a fun and interactive way. We play spelling and rhyme games, build puzzles which helps the children with visual discrimination. Making learning fun so that they do not realise they are learning.
