Introduction to families
"Dear Family" message
My name is Ashleigh H At 23 years old, I have recently graduated with a Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase. My passion for working with children and fostering their own personal growth led me to pursue this degree, and I am eager to bring my knowledge and enthusiasm into a new context as an Au Pair. I am originally from the coastal town of Ballito, KZN, but I have spent the past four years immersing myself in the vibrant community of Cape Town while pursuing my studies. Now, as I embark on this next chapter, I am eager to explore new horizons and embrace the opportunity to connect with a family in need of my support and care. I am usually as outgoing, bubbly, patient, and empathetic, I believe these qualities equip me well for the responsibilities of an Au Pair. I am committed to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for your children, where they can learn, grow, and flourish under my guidance.
Why I would make the perfect au pair
From a young age, I assumed the responsibility of caring for and entertaining my younger cousins, being the oldest in my family. This early experience ignited my passion for working with children and nurturing their growth and development. It inspired me to pursue a degree in Education, where I could further hone my skills and knowledge in this field. One of my defining qualities is my ability to connect with children on their level. I understand the importance of laughter and play in a child's life, and I don't shy away from being silly or goofy if it means fostering a sense of joy and comfort. My genuine enthusiasm for engaging with children allows me to create meaningful and lasting connections with them. My academic journey reinforced my dedication to inclusive education, particularly focusing on understanding and overcoming barriers to learning. This passion was further fueled by my favourite module in university, which delved into supporting children with disorders such as ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and others. Having ADHD, myself, I possess a unique understanding of how to manage and support children with similar challenges, allowing me to provide tailored care and guidance. Creativity is another strength I bring to the table. I am constantly exploring new ideas and activities to stimulate children's minds and encourage their curiosity. From hands-on art projects to exciting science experiments, I have a treasure trove of engaging activities that not only entertain but also promote learning and development. I believe my blend of practical experience, academic knowledge, empathy, and creativity make me an great Au pair.
Hobbies and other interests
One of my passions is staying informed about current affairs and world events. I find immense value in understanding the world around us and staying updated on the latest news. Whether it's through reading newspapers, watching the news, or engaging in discussions, I enjoy staying informed and fostering a deeper understanding of global issues. Reading is another activity close to my heart. Whether it's diving into a captivating novel or exploring non-fiction topics, I find solace and inspiration in the pages of a good book. Reading not only expands my knowledge but also fuels my imagination and creativity. When it comes to leisure time, I thrive in outdoor settings. Whether it's a day at the beach, a walk-in forest or the wondering around the aquarium, I find joy in exploring nature's beauty. These outdoor excursions not only rejuvenate my spirit but also provide opportunities for adventure and discovery. Living in Cape Town has been a wonderful adventure, and I relish the opportunity to explore all that this vibrant city has to offer. From its amazing landscapes to its rich cultural heritage, Cape Town never ceases to amaze me, and I am always eager to discover new hidden gems and experiences. In terms of physical activities, I find joy in staying active and embracing the outdoors. Whether it's a game of tennis or the exhilarating rush of canoeing or surf skiing with my family, I thrive on the energy and vitality that comes from staying active and connected with nature.
