Introduction to families
"Dear Family" message
Hello there. My name is Lauren. I graduated from UCT in 2008 with an honors degree in Theatre and Performance and I am grateful to be currently working as a full-time actress and singer in and around Cape Town, with many years of teaching under my belt. I have also been au pairing for many families for over 10 years.
Why I would make the perfect au pair
My experience with kids goes beyond just au pairing and what I provide is more than just babysitting. I am extremely passionate and energetic, great with stories and creating new ways of thinking that still allow for discipline, while laughing and having fun! I have studied theatre in education and do drama therapy; taught for a number of years in various capacities. So I would also be available to do tutoring and counseling. I also used to run my own kids party business, volunteer as a "Care-Clown through a local non-profit organisation known as the Upliftment program, where we dress up as clowns and go to various hospitals such as the Red Cross Children's Ward. I also have experience with infants, including 3 two-year-old triplets, as well as teaching drama up to matric level and believe God has blessed me with a real gift with children. Hourly rates can be discussed, as they are usually different depending on length and amount of time working in the week. Ie on a a sliding scale.
Hobbies and other interests
Music, singing, playing the guitar.

Employer comments
Amazing volunteer Care Clown & joy activist... she has such a wonderful way with children, she's able to play, guide & inspire them so naturally. She's a remarkable human being & she's been such an integral part of our organisation (theup.org.za), she's now also training up other volunteers...
